HSCLA supports the faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Public Health, and Allied Health, and also serves hospital patrons. In recognition of its outstanding performance, HSCLA was awarded the Best Administrative Excellence Award in 2011.

The library offers a range of services, including Circulation, Technical Services, Cataloguing, Acquisition and Collection Development, References, and a Library System section. It also features Interlibrary Loan and document delivery services, along with Training and Marketing through platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Additionally, the library provides self-checkout stations for book borrowing, scanners for digitizing printed materials, and photocopying facilities.

HSCLA boasts a diverse collection of easily accessible printed and electronic materials. The library holds 33,471 book titles, 1,950 printed journal titles, and an audiovisual section with 2,277 titles. It also provides access to eBooks, e-Journals, abstract databases, evidence-based clinical information databases, and directory databases. Remote access services are available, enabling off-campus access to its materials. The virtual library's e-resources are regularly updated.

Patrons are encouraged to utilize literature search references, circulation services, and interlibrary loans for materials not available in Kuwait libraries. The library provides a welcoming study environment, with librarians readily available to assist with any inquiries or support.
